And AMI's mission continues to focus on helping more than 660 beneficiaries who daily attend our social facilities in Portugal. Thank you for not remaining indifferent. Please make a donation.
In Portugal , AMI currently has 9 Porta Amiga Centres (Lisbon, Olaias and Chelas; Almada; Cascais; Coimbra; Porto; Vila Nova de Gaia; Funchal; Angra do Heroísmo).
The ultimate goal of the project is to fight poverty and social exclusion, creating the means to rehabilitation of problem situations that potentially lead to marginalization and hence social exclusion.
The Friendly Doors Centers born of the will of AMI to hold its first mission in Portugal. Initially more directed to the homeless, this project of global social action, quickly evolved into the care of other situations.
With its broader scope and to address all the realities that have been presented, this project proposes to tackle poverty and social exclusion, creating necessary means of rehabilitation of problem situations that potentially lead to marginalization and, consequently, social exclusion.
These social facilities and responses organise a series of social services (including social assistance/monitoring, job support, food distribution , social canteens, computer libraries against digital exclusion, vocational training, literacy, psychological support, shower rooms).
In 2016 , AMI has provided support to 11.741people directly through its social facilities . Since 1994, the year of inauguration of the first Porta Amiga Centre, AMI has provided direct support to 70.397 people in poverty situation.
